Within the vital current of KALLYSTE and its evolution, calendar pages turn almost unnoticed. Yet let us greet 2024 while its numerals are brand new, as its momentum carries us forward without pause toward fresh horizons.

Much like 2023, this year follows the twin threads of creation and completion: complementing the system components we offer, as well as expanding our circle of dedicated partners who bring them to life—a subject we shall revisit next month.

Our preceding creation, the Amethyste headphone amplifier, answered numerous technical challenges, not least of which was an extraordinary development phase—research, prototyping, and final construction compressed into less than six months. An immense achievement given the sophistication of the instrument, but an intensity so demanding that it will remain, truth be told, a singular chapter.

The ongoing development of the RIAA phono preamplifier, advancing at a more measured yet relentlessly disciplined pace, is beginning to lock in technical architectures and engineering choices that, as always, depart from conventional routine. It mirrors a distillation process where day by day, every decision is refined to its absolute essence.

Allowing pure engineering to dictate the path solely in service of the sonic result means setting aside conventions that the high-fidelity landscape has accepted as dogma for two generations. Along the way, dispelling a few entrenched preconceptions is often necessary…
